"We're really hoping to build on the families that live in the Windsor Locks area ," he said. They didn't necessarily have airport traffic in mind when they chose to do the project, DORO's chief operating officer Scott Miller told Hearst Connecticut in September, understanding that travelers might not be stopping and lingering. The new cafe, across the street from Bradley International Airport on Route 75, is a new demographic for the DORO team. Like the West Hartford original, the new Windsor Locks location features grab-and-go options in a refrigerator case, and guests can also pick up specialty European products like olive oil and chocolate. The bakery features a variety of breads by the loaf, sweet and savory croissants, Danish, cronuts and "sweet things" like eclairs, tiramisu and tarts. The Windsor Locks restaurant also has the same rotisserie-style chicken as the original location, available in quarter, half or whole bird portions with a variety of sides and sauces. Savory options for lunch include sandwiches (chicken salad, pastrami, grilled cheese, crispy fried chicken and prosciutto de parma) soups, salads and bowls with chicken, vegetables and quinoa. Breakfast plates include bowls with eggs, potatoes and meats a tofu scramble with vegetables, brioche French toast and Belgian waffles. The Windsor Locks restaurant has a full breakfast menu with egg sandwiches, bagels and assorted toasts, with spreads like smashed avocado, Zohara's hummus and ricotta with heirloom tomatoes. Prepared croissant sandwiches at DORO Marketplace's second location in Windsor Locks, a European-style bakery/cafe. Puka is a native of Albania, and DORO Marketplace is "inspired by the fresh baked loaves, frothy cappuccinos, and artisan goods that fill the cafes of Europe," according to its website. Founder and CEO Dorjan Puka also owns and operates the Italian restaurant Treva, the French-inspired Àvert Brasserie and Zohara Mediterranean Kitchen in West Hartford center, as well as the casual Artisanal Burger Company in Manchester. The first DORO Marketplace opened on New Britain Avenue in West Hartford two years ago, becoming the group's fifth venture.
